Q. How long does it take to get to campus from Mountain Pines Apartments?
A. Mountain Pines is ideally located right across the street from campus, kitty-corner from the new BYU-Idaho Center.    Any building on campus is just a short walk from Mountain Pines.

Q. Why is Mountain Pines special?
A. For the following reasons:

  • We offer the best location of off-campus housing
  • We offer wireless high-speed Internet in each apartment for each girl
  • Our lounge is newly updated with new carpet, 72″ High Definition TV with Blu Ray Player, couches and oversized chairs, and game tables
  • We have full-time on-site maintenance

Q. Who manages Mountain Pines Apartments?
A. Mountain Pines Apartments is managed by Melanie Birch.

Q. Can I request my roommate(s)?
A. We do our best to accommodate all roommate requests.   All roommate requests must be mutual in order to be honored.

Q. What extras, other than clothes, should I bring?
A. Mountain Pines provides the major appliances and furniture pieces for each laundry room.   Students should provide their own personal items including dishes, pots and pans, utensils, small appliances, bedding, towells, washcloths, etc.   All residents are required to provide their own mattress cover for their bed.

Q. What extras are furnished with the apartment?
A. All apartments are completely furnished with beds, desks, tables, sofas, and chairs. In addition, we provide a microwave, dishwasher, food disposal, and vacuum. There is also a TV in each apartment.

Q. Will I have privacy when my roommates have boys in the Apartment?
A. Yes, the BYU-Idaho Honor Code does not allow boys in the girls’ bedrooms or Bathrooms.

Q. Are there other study alternatives besides my apartment at Mountain Pines?
A. Yes, the lounge is another option to study or hold study groups. There are couches and chairs in there for studying. The library on campus is also another option.

Q. Is there a place where I can practice the piano?
A. Yes, Mountain Pines has a practice room with a piano that is tuned regularly as well as music stands for practicing other instruments.

Q. Is there parking for my car?
A. Yes, Mountain Pines has a large, lighted parking lot. Space is limited, so please sign up earlier to reserve a space.

Q. What recreation activities are nearby?
A. Students can have a great time without ever leaving our apartment complex.  We have a clubhouse with game tables and a big screen TV that is ideal for parties and other get-togethers.  We are located across the street from the BYU-Idaho center and Hart Auditorium where students can swim, play sports, use the exercise facilities, etc.   Just up the street on campus is the Manwaring Student Center, where students can Bowl and attend regular movie nights, dances, etc.   Mountain Pines is just a few blocks away from an activity center with miniature golf, laser tag, and other activities.   We are also within blocks of a city park with open playing field, playground, a carousel, and picnic facilities.

Q. Where can I do my laundry?
A. Mountain Pines has two full-service laundry rooms with well maintained coin-operated washers and dryers as well as lots of counter space for folding clean laundry.  The washers are 75 cents and the dryers are $1.00.

Q. Where do I attend church?
A. Wards are assigned by BYU-Idaho stake leadership and can change. To find out which Ward & Stake you are a part of visit the “Campus Wards and Stake Information” page.

Q. Where can I buy groceries?
A. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Broulims, and Albertson are the main grocery stores in town.

Q. Where can I do my shopping?
A. Broulims, Savers, and Albertsons are the main grocery stores in town.  Broulims is just 4 blocks away from Mountain Pines and will deliver groceries for just $2.   Other shopping venues include Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Maurices,  DownEast Outfitters, and many smaller clothing boutiques.

Q. Who makes repairs to the apartment?
A. Mountain Pines has a full time maintenance manager.  He is very committed to the appearance and condition of the apartments and always makes repairs in a timely manner.   We take great pride in taking care of Mountain Pines and provide several easy methods of submitting maintenance requests.

Q. Can I stay at Mountain Pines Apartments during the summer?
A. Yes, Mountain Pines rents to students for summer sessions. One of our many great facets is that we offer contracts for all options of the BYU-Idaho track system.

Q. Is there some place where I can exercise?
A. Yes.  Mountain Pines’ workout room is equipped with three treadmills, two top of the line ellipticals, a set of weights, yoga equipment, and several workout videos.  We also have flat screen TVs on the wall with DVD players and cable for you to watch while you exercise.
